Age Of Wushu Bot Programmer
Recently I have come across too many of these farming or mining bots that take up most of the resources or rearing stands in an area. I know that you can have multiple accounts; to facilitate different life skills and compliment your main; but is this situation really fair to people.
Feb 25, 2014 Hi Guys, Age of Wushu is an MMORPG game based on martial arts and has a reputation of gold spammers and bot users (human) So.
How am I supposed to farm a copper mine with some bot just waiting to take some of it. It may seem petty but it is happening too much, all for the sake of having things for a guild. If that is the case then the system you have here will benefit those who can have at least 26 characters at one time monopolizing a resource and not allowing other players to utilize them. This image below is just a sampler with 3 bots taking up random rearing stands in a group of 10, and I can manage 10. So the sequence for me to farm is broken.
If people don't find this an issue fine, but I thought it must be brought up. All over different maps they are crowding mines, 3 sometimes 4 to one mine just waiting for spawn. They all have the same name with the last string item being a letter or number. If I have to resort to pking them each time I'll do it, because I need resources just as any other player, for any other guild. Hi Guys, Age of Wushu is an MMORPG game based on martial arts and has a reputation of gold spammers and bot users (human) So I was wondering if any of you have any. Age of Wushu (AoW) is the world’s first true Wuxia themed MMORPG, with cutting edge graphics and innovative gameplay. Relive more than 2000 years of Wuxia tradition.
What's the future for Wushu? Wushu is nearing it's 1st anniversary. Is this the average lifespan of MMORPG's these days? Our servers are still quite behind the Chinese version.
Age Of Wushu Wiki
We still don't have the day/night and weather systems or school less factions players can join. When these features arrive here how many players will be left? The population has definitely declined; people do come and go in mmo's this is normal but that doesn't seem the case here in Wushu. As for newcomers sure they are behind but there are methods in place for them to catch up as someone in a previous thread has stated, it takes 26 days to reach level 30 on 3rd internal.
So what's the problem then? For me the #1 problem is the bot activity.
Wushu is heavily dependent on the economy. The only way to gain silver is kidnapping and trading with other players. As for kidnapping there is barely anyone to kidnap because the bot's have already kidnapped those players. As for trading with players, unless you received a valuable drop it is extremely hard to make silver.

A player cannot sell materials as the bots have dominated this market too. A player could sell workshop crafted goods but that suggests you already have a workshop or the means to get one. What about newcomers? There's little to no hope for them.
If somebody has downloaded your game surely the aim is to retain this player from the moment they login. A big questions on perspective players lips is 'is the game pay-2win?'
Initially Wushu wasn't pay-2-win however as it stands now I would say it is. People who can afford to will likely just pay their way. Goldsellers sell liang quite cheap, $10 for 1 ding? For the more morally inclined player then snail sells it at $30 per ding. I see ingame Snails announcement that players buying illegal tael will be banned indefinitely. I've reported many players and have they disappeared but only a week later to reappear. I know players who have bought illegal tael and have been banned by Snail only to pay Snail to unban their accounts.
There is no consequence for illegal behaviour. There is no deterrent. So going back to the #1 problem of illegal behaviour. When is Snail going to actually tackle kidnap bots? Resource gathering bots.
This is where the gold sellers are making their money. The solution is simple, Snail even implemented it themselves however not even 24 hours after reverted it back and potentially killed the game. Sink or swim. The only way to get by in this game is either be incredibly lucky or buy silver, be it illegally or legally. Yea i feel your pain man.

Red Phoenix is by far the worst server in this game. No population.bots everywhere.declining economy.updates suck.marriage is useless. Getting New skill sets are timewasting. Moderators dont care about the community. No weather.bunch of NPCs everywhere that are there for no particular resaon at all. Script stealing is completely pointless because noone is in the server.same with school wars or Invasion.
Hell i cant even find full parties for instances. When its time to fight a world boss.1 full raid party= ENTIRE SERVER.No one even TPs anymore. The game is innovative and has a lot of potential but the customer service is just HORRIBLE. All they want is your money for a bunch of tiny little crap updates.4th SKILL SET just came out! WHOOPDY DAMN DOO!!!! I only waited for it for about a year.
Age Of Kungfu
I used to spend money on this game.nowadays these Snail. arent getting a dime out of me until they fix the suck of what this game is becoming. And now im starting to see the suck spread to other servers. Hell.I say everyone boycott Age of Wushu or just play it on a non VIP account. Its painfully obvious Snail is taking our money in exchange for a game that ISNT EVEN FINISHED YET. BOYCOTT WUSHU.
World Of Wushu

SAVE YOUR MONEY UNTIL SNAIL ACTS LIKE THEY CARE!!! There is no weather on chinese servers either (and will not be) and marriage is purely social too (and will be). What you were expecting is not aow. I play aow for a long time just by logging for an hour a day to do silver training and one round of exploring jianghu - same as many others do. It's a social game for people with real life. If you need a game where you can spend 8 hours a day by grinding - it's not wushu: take a look at caps that are everywhere and offline cultivation. BT and WT were poorly populated and got merged, same will happen to RP after some time, so there is no need to worry about population.
Bots are here because wushu community asked for them to be, so there no point complaining about something the majority decided (democracy system). China is totalitarian - they just banned all bots without asking their opinion. Last edited by on Fri Nov 22, 2013 5:44 pm, edited 1 time in total. If we were to ask the people that left if they like this game, a common response may be, 'its an excellent game but.' On one hand, this game is excellent, but on they other, the problem such as bot seem like a serious problem. My guess is, bots is at the heart of the problem. Try looking at it like this.
Vip is affordable, play for free is expensive, botting is profitable. The possibility and the easiness to bot could mean, less are buying affordable vip.
Snails might tackle this by making it harder to play for free to deal with this, thereby making it even more expensive to play for free. Or they can just.you know, Hire programmers to prootect their client/servers from the programs botters use, and continually update that protection. Out of the millions of competent, smart programers with easy accessebility (most programmers can work remotely if they need to) the fact the the economy still sucks and milions of people are looking for jobs.
It woudl be EASY for snail to create a tech/IT/Programmer position to continuosly find/figure out/monitor the bots in game and continusly create programming countermeasures to stop the bots when they appear. OR they could even implement the idea of just not giving coins for kidnapping.so that the bots will eventually run out of money to kidnap. Really, its 2013, there is no reason why there should be bots in mmo's unless the company is making money off of them in some way.
I don't get this 'either/or' talk you guys are talking about, pretty much snail(and pretty much any/all f2p mmo) can deal with this kind of situation.they just choose not to. With all the changes you guys may propose, you might as well just make the game P2P. But they would lose everyone.why?
Because whan a game is P2P,100% of the customers change their expectations of a P2P mmo. Snail would have to drastically change the game, get rid of the bound money system, pretty much take all their item mall items off and make them attainable in game etc. Etc (which would have negative consequences.) have better protection from hacking (as in actual programming solutions, rather than in game password prompts.which would drive people away) Pretty much customers would have to feel like they are not gettign ripped off. But as the game is now and the fact that there are many other games that do this a lot better than snail would, would pretty much kill the game here. Making everything VIP would also kill the game, as new players would quit before they even got teh chance to WANT to buy VIP - I'm sorry the it's only $9 a month excuse doesn't work, as people would think 'well, you get what you pay for' and simply not play if everything went vip, 'You mean I have to Pay JUST to mine some. etc etc?' 'Why not make it pay 2 play then?'
(the reasons I posted above are the reasons why snail can't make it pay 2 play, since they would have to take down pretty much all of the item mall items and offer them in game - which would piss off 100% of the customers who paid for those items etc etc) Also, I'm sorry but Chinese people are.Chinese. Different people, Different market than the west. If you applied chinese market tactics/appeal to a western market, you will fail, and vice versa. When you do business in other contries(I have so I know wtf I'm talking about) you have to understand this fact or you'll just lose money. You cannot apply 'It works this way in China' to what will actaully work in a western market.period.
SO when people bring that up its just like.' 'Have you ever tried to do business in another country without knowing about the people there and what they expect/how things actually work'? When people mention that, it's an obvious sign that they haven't and have no clue about what they are on about.
In reality, if snail wanted to, it would be easier to open up a permanent programmer position to protect the client/servers from bot access. It's not impossbile.if we can get people to the moon 50 years ago, protecting a server from bot companies should be a cinch.
