Hello, i have a question concerning Volume Activation Services at Windows Server 2012 with VAMT 3.0. At the moment, i just installed the KMS server, but have not enough clients to test it (they wasn't delivered to time) I want to activate my machines (server and clients) via KMS Keys, therefore i have entered them to the section product key at the Volume activation management tool. But at the column 'Remaining Activation Count' i see the entry 'Not available'. Can anyone of you say, if is it normal? And a second question, how can i test the functionality of the KMS Server, as long as i have not enough server and clients (5/25).

Activation Count Exceeded

Thanks a lot greetings. Hello, did you mean that's not possible to see it in VAMT 3.0 and only via command line? I can't see my entered licenses at this Output.

How to stop activation count in staad pro v8

The output from slmgr.vbs, from the KMShost, will indicate the current activation status, and counters. VAMT doesn't really perform activation at all, VAMT is simply a proxy/broker/agent, which can collect some information and pass it on to KMShost or MSweb for activation request, and VAMT then passes the activation information back to the client.

If you are using KMS, there is no way to bypass the minimum number of KMSclients needed. Slmgr.vbs will reveal the status of your KMShost, and the counters upon the KMShost, which should reveal if your KMSclients are contacting your KMShost correctly. If so, when there is a sufficient number of KMSclients, as each KMSclient contacts the KMShost, the KMShost will issue an activation for each KMSclient. When you use the slmgr.vbs utility upon your KMShost, does the output appear similar to the example provided here? Hi, on your KMShost, you can use the utility: cscript slmgr.vbs /dlv all this will show you the 'current count' and 'cumulative requests received' from KMSclients You can also examine the KMShost server event logs, for KMS-related events (such as 12289, 12290, etc) This article helps explain how the KMSclients and KMShost communications occur: Don (Please take a moment to 'Vote as Helpful' and/or 'Mark as Answer', where applicable.

The question is regarding the Volume Activation Tool. In the tool, under Product Keys, when you highlight a key you should see a status pane showing things like the number of times that a product key can be used to activate a product.

For some reason known only to Microsoft, for KMShost keys, the 'Remaining Activation count' is not provided by their webservice, so VAMT cannot retrieve/display that information for KMShost keys. From memory, the remaining act count is only offered for MAK pkeys. (I don't use OEM nor Retail pkeys, so have never tried those) Don doesn't work for MSFT, and they're probably glad about that;.
