Thank you for your understanding. So my little cousin was playing a game on my phone when I got a text. It was from the number 80206, and said: 'FreeMsg: Play fun games @! U r subscribed to Bounce Games, 24 hrs free and then £2.50/wk until I send stop bmgames to 60762 HELP: 8' I was obviously worried, so I rang their help number.

Bounce

It was completely automated, and there was no way to speak to a real person. I was fuming, but I managed to cancel the service over the phone. It said to expect a text confirming the cancellation within 24 hours, which I am still waiting for.

Hopefully I will be unsubscribed without being charged, but fuck bounce.mobi. And honestly, fuck EE for allowing this shit on their network. Just because a kid clicked on an advert, EE handed my details over to this scummy company so they could charge me!

/sorry for the rant, I'm really pissed off about this. If anything, take this as a reminder to keep your phone out of the hands of kids. If I hadn't seen the text, I would have been charged for sure. Had I not experienced this myself then I would be agreeing with you but a similar thing happened to be. I was on the crappy mobile website for my local paper (infested with obtrusive ads) and I accidentally tapped on a mobile subscription advert. Without any warning or confirmation I received a text to say I had been subscribed to a premium text service.

I have no idea what protocol it was using to obtain my number as I am 100% that I did not sent them a message but it sure as heck happened somehow. Was very odd. I've had a text before for something that I never signed up for. It was something ridiculous like a weekly horoscope and it stated that it had cost me £1.50, and that I'd need to text STOP for an additional £1.50 if I didn't want to keep receiving them.

I text stop, and called EE. Told them it came out of nowhere and they took my word for it, didn't get any hassle. They refunded the full £3, and my 50p for skipping the queue for the call, and said they'd investigate the matter to ensure it doesn't affect any other customers.

Don't worry, EE have your back on this kind of shit. I skip it every time and always ask for it to be refunded because the reason for my call wasn't my fault, and it always works. Mobile networks in general are bad for CS calls.

In the UK, EE is actually one of the best. UK call centres, open late and they know what they're doing. Even if you don't skip, you never have to wait that long. They're much better than voda or o2 from my past experience. Their home broadband call centre however.

I don't know how those people even manage feed themselves.
